This issue is devoted to current developments and emerging challenges in the field of translation studies. The articles featured address diverse aspects of translation theory and practice, including equivalence, translation strategies, translator training, and the role of technology in shaping translation. Special attention is given to how translation interacts with sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and applied linguistics, highlighting both the theoretical frameworks and practical realities of cross-cultural communication. By bringing together research on machine translation, human–machine collaboration, literary and non-literary translation, and language policy implications, this issue seeks to advance scholarly dialogue on the evolving role of translation in a multilingual and globalized world.

  • Literary and Non-Literary Translation (ex: Challenges in translating literature, poetry, and drama, Specialized translation: legal, medical, scientific, and technical texts)

BASO JOURNAL: Journal of Linguistics is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to the dissemination of contemporary research in the field of linguistics. This journal is published twice annually by Baso Journal (BaJou) which serves as a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to publish original articles that address current trends, theories, methodologies, and applications in various branches of linguistics.

The journal welcomes contributions in areas such as syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, discourse analysis, language acquisition, language teaching, and language policy. BASO JOURNAL aims to foster scholarly communication and to advance the understanding of language and linguistic practices across diverse contexts.

All manuscripts submitted to BASO JOURNAL undergo an initial editorial review and are then evaluated by at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer-review process. This rigorous process is designed to ensure the academic quality and integrity of the published works.
